Ginger is used for stomach complaints, not intestinal. Good that you found the enzymes help. sue

I tried ginger for my colitis. I didn’t feel any difference. I might not of been taking enough. The multi-enzymes seem to help the most. They got me away from Drs, their drugs and 90% of the suffering for over 4 years. Stan – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I hear conflicting thoughts on ginger. Some say it is an antacid. Don’t know if it is an antacid per se’, but it sure settles the tummy if fresh. :-) Ever try growing it?  It is a pretty plant. I don’t think it can be classified as either an acid reducer or stimulator. It’s in a group of herbs that are carminative – relieving intestinal gas, for stomach pains and for indigestion. Other carminative herbs include cumin, fennel and peppermint. sue

I hear conflicting thoughts on ginger. Some say it is an antacid. Others say it stimulates acid production. Ginger has been a miracle-worker for me when I get little stomach pains and or if I overeat. But I have been told that it can in fact reduce stomach acid, and that might explain why my gas production has gotten so out of control in the last few years (in terms of odor and internal noises). I was using it for years, taking it everyday easily (I’ve been off it since I started my Gluten-Free+ elimination diet). I’m just wondering if its an antacid or not?? Thanks, P
