Thanks Deb. I think I’ll try this stuff. I’ve had a go with other "supermarket grade" probiotics in the past, though they seemed to make me worse. Since I’ve just started on the SC diet hopefully the combination will do something (been flaring on and off for about 8 months now)… Also since I’m in Australia already that’s gotta count for something

Hi all, A couple of months back there was a bit of talk regarding a probiotic supplement named VSL#3. I think a couple of folks in the newsgroup mentioned they were about have a go of this stuff… If so, anything positive to report? Thanks, Chris UC ‘95

Started taking this stuff in late October. About a week after that, I went to Australia and continued taking it. I was in Australia 3 weeks – during the last week I forgot to take all meds including the VSL #3, since I started to go into remission. However, I have no idea what caused the remission. I was in a flare (colitis) for 5 months, and suddenly it cleared up within 3 weeks. I think it may have been the change of scenery and the lack of stress from my daily life. But I don’t think the VSL hurt me. I mixed it into apple sauce or pudding or anything cold. Don’t use hot food – it kills the bacteria.
