Probiotics and Colitis
Question:
Thats the problem there is little or no work on FFI being done in the USA. Here is something to get you started. This article makes reference to putting UC into long term remission. Although most of the article is about curing resistant C.Diff. http://www-east.elsevier.com/ajg/issues/9511/ajg3277edi.htm If you go to the US patent server you can find patents on FFI I forget how I found them now but you can try searching Borody ,the complete procedure and results are in the patents. I use probiotics for U.C. and am well pleased with the results. The type I use has Lactobacillus acidophilus (the bacillus that makes yogurt) and 2 species of Bifidobacterium. B. bactriobifidum and B. Longum. The latter has been most highly recommended of the two Bifido.s I use the Kyo-Dophilus brand available through GNC nutrition centers. I also take about 2 times as many as suggested, with one at each meal. and substantial snack, rather than the 2 a day recommended. It has not been any big cure, but it substantially reduces gas, bloating and loose stools. These are not bad things in my book. I have no connection with GNC or the makers of the probiotics.
